The 14th Seoul International NewMedia Festival

CALL FOR ENTRIES

The Seoul International NewMedia Festival, aka NeMaf, launched by iGong Alternative Visual Factory, has found and showcased more than 1,500 works and 800 media artists since 2000. Celebrating its 14th edition, NeMaf is now open for submissions seeking films, media art and exhibitions in an alternative art form.

Eligibility
Films or media-based exhibitions completed after January 2012, which offer an alternative, experimental and creative insight.

Category
•    Film: any form of media-based works available for screening including alternative, experimental, animated films, documentary, media art and single-channel video.
•    Exhibition: any form of media-based works available for exhibition including media performance, media art, net-art, sound and multi-channel video.

How to Submit
•    Download an entry form (either film or exhibition), email your completed one to nemafest@gmail.com.
•    Submit your film via Withoutabox.comm and email your preview link details to nemafest@gmail.com.
NB: Your email subject should read "work title_author name."

Submission Deadline
May 26, 2014

•    Works under 50mins: electronically completed entry form including the access details of a protected preview link.
•    Works over 50 mins: electronically completed entry form including the access details of a protected preview link OR with 3-copy of preview DVD that should be sent to the following address by May 26:

Selection and Award
Once your work is selected for NeMaf2014, it will play in the festival's competition section, Glocal Propose, and be eligible to win six prizes, worth about 10 million KRW in total as follow:
•    Glocal Propose Cinema: Best Propose, Best Alternative Cinema, Korean Propose, and iGong Cinema for best emerging artist
•    Glocal Propose Exhibition: New Media Art, and iGong Exhibition for best emerging artist 

Note
•    NeMaf2014 highly recommend an online screener produced on Vimeo.com.
•    Preview material must be identical to the screening copy.
•    Please do not transfer any video files via email directly.
•    In case you post 3 preview DVDs (only applicable to works over 50mins), the package should be labeled with "work title, author name, running time and contact details."
•    Your work must be subtitled in English or Korean unless it has Korean, English or no dialogues.
•    We do not return any submission materials all the time.
