Topic: CALL FOR ENTIRES: Wee Bitty Things. Murphy Arts! Indianapolis, IN

"wee bitty things"
Friday, May 7th, 2010

About The Show:
This show will be held at the Space Camp Gallery in the Murphy Arts Building,  located in the Fountain Square Art District, just east of downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The opening will take place on Friday May 7th, 2010 and the show will run through May 31st. The gallery in which this show will be held is very small, but kind of awesome (it was once used as a public pay-restroom). Don't let the size of the gallery discourage you, though-it is located within a popular building that gets a lot of traffic during the city's First Friday Gallery tours. There are no restrictions as to thematic content, but size of the work should comply with the restrictions listed under "Eligibility."

Eligibility:
Open to all artists worldwide. Student work encouraged. Flat work should be no larger than 6"x6". 3-D work should be no larger than 6 cubic inches (6"x6"x6"). Video work should be readable when projected at 6"x6". A doorman will be handing out loupes as a courtesy to all who attend the exhibition to aid in viewing the work.

How to Submit Your Work:
Please send up to 5 images (or videos) for review in jpeg (quicktime mov) format to weebittythings@gmail.com . Images and videos should be 25MB or less for the judging phase, as Gmail will not accept larger files (multiple emails will be accepted if necessary, but please make it clear that they are all from the same artist). Please name your files artist name, title.jpg. For example: George Washington, White Horse.jpg

Via email, submit a corresponding image list. The image list should include the title, date, dimensions, and medium. Each submission must be accompanied with a brief artist statement about the piece and/or your work as a whole, as well as an artist bio and/or artist resume. All documents must be included electronically as either a Word document or a PDF.

All emailed submissions are due by March 15th, 2010. Email submissions and any questions to: weebittythings@gmail.com

Review and Selection:
Work will be reviewed by a committee comprised of Paul Miller and Kyle Smith. Artists will be contacted by March 31st, 2010 and informed which works are selected for the exhibition. Accepted work must be postmarked no later than April 15th, 2010, and must include payment of a $15 entry fee (to be used to cover the costs of promotion, insurance, and return shipment). The artist is responsible for the cost of shipment of work to the curators.
