The town of Maalot-Tarshiha (in the Galille, Israel) is unique for its' harmonious coexistence of Arabs and Jews, sharing 7 quarters and one municipality.
For the past eighteen years the Municipality of Maalot-Tarshiha has organized an annual International Sculpture Symposium known as "Stone in the Galilee."
The upcoming "Stone in the Galilee" Symposium is planned for March 26th through april 14th 2009 and sculptors are invited to submit their proposals / sketches for sculptures to be executed at the Symposium. Proposals must relate to the theme : Urban Environmental Sculpting.
